As both peers and supporters alike shed tears from the audience, Steve 'Sting' Borden announced to the world that he was officially retiring from pro wrestling during the 2016 WWE Hall Of Fame event. It was one of the most emotional moments in the history of WWE's long-running ceremony.

Emotion is something closely linked to the WWE Hall Of Fame, as the company look to honour those who have not only meant a great deal to WWE, but also to wrestling as a whole. Already, there's discussion over exactly who will be given the red carpet treatment the night before next year's WrestleMania.

Generally, WWE like to induct a major star (such as Sting from this year), a group or tag-team, and also a number of other individuals to help bolster the main inductee. A female is also involved to keep things varied, as well as a deceased name and a special celebrity entrant.

The 2017 WWE Hall Of Fame will take place the evening before WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida. It makes sense that some of those inducted will have links to the location, but that isn't the only criteria for WWE when it comes to choosing.

9. Bob Barker

On the September 7, 2009 episode of Monday Night Raw, Bob Barker proved a highly entertaining guest host. This edition fell smack bang in the middle of WWE's attempt to combat sagging ratings by drafting in weekly celebrity guests. Most of them were awful, but then they didn't put their all into the performance like Barker did.

Even whilst posing for a promo pic with D-Generation X backstage, the former host of The Price Is Right looked like he was having a ball. His vigour certainly came across during a segment entitled, 'The Price Is Raw'. Alongside Bob, the star of the show was Chris Jericho.

Lord only knows how both men managed to keep straight faces. Credit must go to Jericho for not cracking even when threatening Barker, and both guys made the skit worthwhile. For that very reason, Jericho would be the perfect choice to induct Bob Barker into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall Of Fame.

Bob will be 93 by the time the ceremony comes around, and there are certainly worse choices.
