Scott Steiner and Bill Watts, who ran WCW for a time in the early 90s, did not get along. Watts rubbed many of the WCW wrestlers the wrong way, with his archaic rules and bullying tactics. Big Scotty Steiner was not one to be bullied by anyone, and he confronted Watts at a WCW taping at Centre Stage. Details are sketchy and accounts vary (as they always do), but the gist of this one seems to be that Watts wanted to split up the Steiners and make Scott a heel singles wrestler. Scott disagreed, because he wanted to keep tagging with his brother, but that wasn't his only issue with Watts. He also disliked the push that Watts untalented son Erik was receiving, to the detriment of far more bankable stars. He was also smarting because Watts, in an effort to cut costs, was trying to cut contracts left, right and centre. Eventually, Steiner had enough and confronted 'The Cowboy'. Steiner cornered Watts in the locker room and began screaming at Watts. In response, Watts said that he was carrying a loaded pistol and wasn't afraid to use it on him, if that's the way he wanted to do things. Undeterred, Steiner continued chewing him out (although it's uncertain as to whether or not they ever came to blows). Watts was so scared of Steiner that he was forced to carry a loaded weapon, just in case things turned physical. The Steiners left WCW for the WWF shortly thereafter when their WCW contracts ran out.
