9 Times Wrestlers Were Draped In Gold
These guys' waists have the Midas touch.
Holding more than one belt aloft is a relative rarity in professional wrestling. Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins, The Miz, MVP, The Ultimate Warrior... you can rattle off the names of most double champions in the major companies with ease.
But these days, the world is a lot smaller. Some indie names bounce back and forth across the globe, building strong reputations for themselves and becoming trusted members of the locker room for multiple companies.
And in the big promotions? Well, sometimes, a guy comes along that would make Gorilla Monsoon utter the phrases "irresistible force" and "immovable object". Whether he's a destroyer, a wrestling machine, or a member of the best tag team on planet Earth, he won't stop until he's got all the gold.
You can laugh all you want at the idea of Triple H wielding the Divas and TNA X-Division championships, but you might be surprised how close some wrestlers have come to decking themselves out with gold Hunter Hearst Helmsley-style.
Sorry, double champions... you need not apply. We're looking for people with at least three belts to their name. And there are more than you might think.
(Be warned, though: there are spoilers here for the PWG show Pushin Forward Back AND for Progress Chapter 51.)
9. CCK
If you're not familiar with the booming British wrestling scene, you might not have heard of these guys. But learn their names: they are tearing it up in the UK.
Short for either The Commonwealth Catch Kings or The Calamari Catch Kings, depending on which pairing is in the ring at the time, the trio of Travis Banks, Chris Brookes, and Kid Lykos have run roughshod across multiple promotions, and they've got the championship gold to prove it.
CCK has held the Undisputed British Tag Team Championship, the Progress Tag Team Championship, the CZW World Tag Team Championship, the ATTACK! Tag Team Championship, and the Fight Club: Pro Championship, all at the same time. They need three guys on the team just to carry all those belts.
CCK lost the Progress Tag Titles last weekend at Progress Chapter 51: Screaming for Progress, but they are still decked out in gold.
Expect to hear big things from these guys soon.
