Randy Savage's match against The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania VII saw the betassled roidebeest defeat the Macho Man in a retirement match. Miss Elizabeth, who had been replaced as Macho Man's lady friend by Queen Sherri during Macho's heel run, was picked out by the cameras in the crowd. As Macho reeled from a supposedly career-ending defeat, Sherri threw a classic hissyfit and chewed out Savage in the ring with a few unladylike boots to the gut thrown in. Cue Miss Elizabeth, who jumped the rail, threw Sherri out of the ring, and faced the man who had rejected her.

Savage acted confused for several minutes, until finally, to the biggest pop of the night, he threw his arms around his former manager in a combination reunion and face turn. The audience's reaction was ecstatic, as if they chose for the moment to believe the love between the two characters had overcome the ancient caste system of face and heel. It was a perfect moment of suspension of disbelief, with the crowd willingly buying into a performance that went beyond wrestling and had everything to do with giving the people what they really wanted.
