9 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (15 Sep)

6. Cheaper Than The Cheapest

Clearly cognizant of the loud minority who reacted negatively to last week's cheap heat segment with Brian Pillman Jr. and his family in Cincinnati, MJF doubled down in Newark, going all the way in on the easiest insults available to him.

And it ruled.

Newark hated MJF name-dropping "Methanie", switching from talking up to Brian Pillman Sr. to looking down to hell, and calling BPJ the "worst excuse for a second-generation wrestler". The building was molten. It worked, objectively, and going for the low-hanging fruit so blatantly is exactly what a guy like MJF should be doing. He's the most detestable guy in the building - and impossible to cheer.

This all led to a fired-up Brian Jr. coming through the crowd with a steel chair, driving both MJF and Wardlow out of the ring ahead of the Arthur Ashe showdown. Later, he took part in a well-delivered sit-down interview with Jim Ross, further widening the chasm between himself and his silver spoon opponent.
