9 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (June 15)

1. Christian Cage Is Incredible

Christian Cage
AEW

The inevitable heel turn finally happened, and it was sensationally performed.

After Jungle Boy lost the AEW World Tag Team Title, Christian motioned to help Jungle Boy out of the ring before blasting him with the Killswitch and, in scenes captured by FITE, unleashing a believable, foul-mouthed rant towards his former protege's family. Christian was superb here. The sheer intensity and fury behind his trash-talk perfectly conveyed the months and months of simmering resentment. Cage has dedicated the very last phase of his career to mentoring Jungle Boy, and you could feel what Cage perceived to be wasted time boiling his piss internally. It was almost frightening.

Perfectly done - it's just a shame that it was overshadowed by the sensational breaking news elsewhere.
