9 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Sep 2)

2. Private Party vs. The Initiative

Both teams went nuts here. Unhindered by their brief runtime, they maximised their minutes from the opening bell, dropping big bombs at a great pace in a breathless main event that wasted no time. A flippydoo match at its heart, the style won't please everybody - though it was very effective here.

The Initiative's split is the big story here. Their coming together was going to go one of two ways:-

1. They'd build to that first win together before eventually pulling it off in a big babyface moment.

2. Avalon would get tired of his good guy compatriot and beat the p*ss out of him.

AEW went with the latter, as 'The Librarian' beat Brandon Cutler down after the bell, ending the team. The storyline is now heading towards a resolution, and you know what a singles match means.

One of AEW's unwinnables is finally going to win.
