You know, WWE was doing much better when they didn’t bother reminding us of the existence of its stupid, never-followed “Wild Card Rule.”

In case you forgot, Vince McMahon announced the rule a few months back as a way to have wrestlers crossover between Raw and SmackDown. He set the limit at four wrestlers each show – and then they immediately broke the rule, and proceeded to break it over and over every week. Recently, they simply stopped referencing it, which made it far easier to overlook the transgressions.

But Monday, Michael Cole announced that New Day was here because of the Wild Card Rule, so let’s review who came over to Raw from SmackDown on Monday night: Dolph Ziggler, Roman Reigns, Elias, R-Truth, New Day, Fire & Desire, and Randy Orton.

If you’re counting wrestlers, that’s 10. If you’re counting groups as single entries, it’s still seven, which is well beyond the limit.
