Adam Cole Says He Wants To Retire Triple H

The NXT Champ "wouldn't pass" on ending Trips' career...

Triple H Adam Cole

Reigning NXT Champion Adam Cole would love to be the man who retires Triple H someday.

In an interview with Steel Chair Magazine, The Undisputed Era's leading light said that retiring 'The Game' is "absolutely something I'd love to do". Cole then pointed out that everyone on the NXT roster is in the same boat, because they've all grown up as fans (and, later, as performers inside WWE) idolising Triple H and his old DX pal Shawn Michaels.

Cole is also smart enough to know that fans would dig a match between him and NXT's father figure. The brand's hardcore fanbase appreciate everything Trips has done for NXT, and they'd likely cherish seeing him lay down for Cole and end his career for good.

Could this be a subtly-placed hint that such a match might happen one day? Probably not, and the champ was probs just replying to a fantasy-style question, but it's interesting to think what retiring someone the standing of Triple H would do for Cole's own legacy in WWE.

Adam Cole vs. Triple H is a WrestleMania-worthy match. Few would disagree.
