AEW All Out 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen

Has there been a more haphazard build to any AEW pay-per-view than the one fans have witnessed on the road to All Out 2022? This year's supershow feels terribly last-minute in some key areas, and it's definitely like Tony Khan decided to chuck everything at the wall midweek to see what might stick.

Brace yourselves, because this is going to be a long show.

Length isn't necessarily a problem if people are invested, the matches are killer and the results satisfying. However, the build towards Sunday has been...troublesome. The good news is that All Elite's roster remains good enough to cancel out some sh*tty decision-making (CM Punk vs. Jon Moxley on TV then a PPV rematch 11 days later?!), and that'll presumably be the case this weekend.

AEW could use a hit though.

Here's everything that must happen come All Out. That includes title changes, new number one contenders being crowned, the right stipulations for some of the more heated matches and a comeback so shocking it rocks the entire company to the core. Oh yes, yours truly is talking about none other than MJF...

Reigning ROH World Champ Claudio Castagnoli is the standout contender on the list of names announced for Sunday's 'Casino Ladder Match' thus far. Yes, the BCC man already has a belt over his shoulder, but he'd be this fan's top pick to score the win at All Out and become number one contender.

Then, AEW can keep that one in their back pocket.

Tony might be tempted to try pop another TV rating by putting Castagnoli vs. Jon Moxley or CM Punk on Dynamite, but he should have a right good think about that - whilst nobody would scoff at seeing Claudio vs. either man for free, it's also true that Castagnoli's first crack at the big prize is pay-per-view worthy.

Some will argue that Dante Martin deserves a breakout moment, which is fair enough. Is his window as limited as Claudio's though? No, not really, and that's yet another reason why Castagnoli should get the nod.
