All Elite Wrestling made another convincing case for themselves as a thrilling alternative to WWE with their All Out pay-per-view, which while not decisively winning the weekend from NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff, nevertheless served up a packed slate of quality matches.

There were two genuinely great bouts, a number that weren't far off, and not a single dud among the bunch.

It's fair to say that AEW does need to smooth out a few teething problems - camerawork and production could be better, and the show pacing is brutal - but where it mattered most, All Out was a rousing success.

With the company's weekly live show set to debut next month, this was clearly a table-setting exercise to get the house in order for then, and that it most certainly did, giving fans a deliciously entertaining heel champ who can steer things in the right direction moving forward.

And whichever show you enjoyed the most this weekend, has there ever been a better time to be a wrestling fan? Talk about an embarrassment of riches...
