AEW Dark Tapings Give Huge Spoiler On Future Title Change?

Did yesterday's Dark tapings give a spoiler on an upcoming title switch?

Jonathan Gresham AEW ROH

With the latest set of AEW Dark tapings having taken place in Orlando, Florida yesterday, there's an interesting note that may be a major spoiler on what will go down at ROH Death Before Dishonor next weekend.

As per JJ Williams of the Wrestling Observer, current ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham was in action at said Dark tapings, but did not have the ROH World Title with him when he came to the ring.

Of course, Gresham is due to face Claudio Castagnoli for Ring of Honor's top prize at Death Before Dishonor on 23 July. With the aforementioned Dark outing set to air after Death Before Dishonor, the absence of the ROH World Championship around the waist of the Octopus could well be taken as an indicator that Gresham will be losing that belt to Claudio next Saturday.

For those wondering, yesterday saw Gresham defeat Jordan Oasis in a match that will seemingly air on the 26 July episode of AEW Dark.

A former ROH Pure Champion and ROH Tag Team Champion (with Jay Lethal), Jonathan Gresham has been the ROH World Champion since defeating Lethal at the Final Battle PPV last December. There, Gresham and Lethal did battle for the ROH World Title which had at that point been vacated by Bandido due to COVID-19. Since then, Gresham bested Bandido at Supercard of Honor this past April to fully cement himself as the top dog of Ring of Honor.
