Another week, another highly eventful Wednesday in the world of wrestling...although yesterday wasn't just limited to the duelling wrestling shows. Yesterday's announcement of numerous WWE departures cast a depressing shadow over the normally entertaining battle between NXT and Dynamite, but there was still plenty to discuss.
AEW featured another match in the TNT Championship tournament; with Lance Archer and Colt Cabana putting their undefeated records on the line in a bid to reach the semi-finals. We also saw Britt Baker reassert herself as one of the key players in the women's division after last weeks defeat to Hikaru Shida, and an entertaining contest between Chuck Taylor and Kip Sabian.
Dynamite's main event was a much-hyped battle between Jon Moxley and Jake Hager for the AEW World Championship in a no holds barred empty arena match...but could it live up to expectations?
NXT meanwhile pit Fabian Aichner against Finn Balor, Tegan Nox versus Raquel Gonzalez, and there was a grudge match between Aliyah and Xia Li. Also, Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott faced Akira Tozawa in the opening match of a tournament to determine the interim NXT Cruiserweight champion.
Timothy Thatcher was revealed as Matt Riddle's mystery partner as 'The Original Bro' defended the NXT tag team championships against the Undisputed Era, but the ending of the show had everyone talking...did Killer Kross attack Tommaso Ciampa?!
