Nyla Rose will likely challenge AEW Women's World Champion Hikaru Shida at Full Gear 2020, writes Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Rose's manager, Vickie Guerrero, recently stated that 'The Native Beast' wouldn't wrestle again until Shida answered her challenge. 'The Full Metal Champion' is yet to do so, though she remains without an opponent for the 7 November pay-per-view.

Shida's reign began with a win over Rose at Double Or Nothing 2020 on 23 May. Their match was extremely well-received that night, and considered amongst the best things on a loaded show. Rose is currently first in the AEW women's rankings.

Dr. Britt Baker may be considered a potential challenger as well, as she is currently riding a two-match winning streak on her comeback tour. AEW's announcers also went out of their way to emphasise Abadon's number-three ranking while promoting her upcoming match with Tay Conti, suggesting she may soon enter the title scene as well.

Penelope Ford is currently ranked second but isn't involved in any women's division storylines at the moment. Big Swole, at number four, is likely out of the immediate reckoning after losing to Shida last week.
