Watch that chip or it'll trip you up, Eddie.

Kingston's resentment towards CM Punk seemingly came out of nowhere for more casual viewers, but this has been burning away in the background since the ROH days. That's long-term storytelling for you! Seriously though, Eddie being cast as someone with a huge chip on his shoulder who desperately fancies tearing Punk down is awesome.

It'd be even more awesome if all that rage and burning hatred bit Eddie in the ass come the finish. Wouldn't he despise Punk even more if the dude took seven years away from wrestling, then came back and was just too damn good for Kingston to beat when the bright pay-per-view lights were on?

This is a rivalry AEW can get more than one match out of. They kinda have to, because it's far too intense not to have some sort of 'No DQ' or 'Street Fight' gimmick attached to it at some point. For now though, Eddie's temper and rage can be his undoing.
