Mercedes Moné has posted a blog celebrating her first full year in AEW, calling the promotion a "beacon of hope" for her.

Published on MercedesMone.com, the short article sees the TBS Champion call the past 12 months "one of the most transformative years of my career", with Mercedes pouring praise on AEW and its founder and CEO Tony Khan.

"Can you believe it? It’s been a year since I embarked on this incredible journey with AEW," wrote Moné. "Time truly does fly, and I can confidently say this has been one of the most transformative years of my career. AEW has reignited my fire, passion, and deep-seated love for this sport. It has been a beacon of hope for me, and I am endlessly grateful to AEW and Tony Khan for this opportunity!"

Mercedes continued: "I am privileged to share the ring with the absolute best women in the world—strong, fierce competitors who push me to elevate my game day in and day out. And let’s not forget the men; their relentless drive inspires me to strive for greatness beyond compare."

After thanking AEW's fans for their "unwavering support", Moné said that after being told that the sky was her limit and "shattering that ceiling", she is "committed to leaving an indelible mark on wrestling history."

The article was published on 24 March, just over one year after Mercedes officially debuted for AEW at the 'Big Business' Dynamite special on 13 March, 2024.

Moné is regarded as one of the best wrestlers in the world and has been one of the centrepieces of AEW programming since then, accumulating four belts along the way: the AEW TBS Championship, NJPW STRONG Women's Championship, RevPro Undisputed British Women's Championship, and Queen of Southside Championship.

TBS Champion for 303 days at the time of writing, Mercedes is currently expected to face Ring of Honor Women's Champion Athena for the belt next. This escalated on last week's Dynamite, when Moné defeated Athena's "minion", Billie Starkz, in her latest TBS Title defence.
