AEW Original's Contract Expiring Soon?
One of AEW's earliest signings may be working on a soon-to-expire contract...
At one point in the recent past, Peter Avalon's AEW contract was due to expire sometime within the next few weeks.
This is according to Fightful Select. The outlet learned of Avalon's expiring deal in mid-December, but hasn't heard of any further updates on his situation since then. Per the report, AEW has stated that it doesn't discuss talent contracts, while Avalon has not responded to a request for comment.
Avalon has, however, been booked for an upcoming Dark taping, having pulled out of Zicky Dice's Outlandish Paradise event on 15 January.
Effectively an AEW original, Avalon, 32, was confirmed as an official signing on the 22 April 2019 episode of Being The Elite. He was introduced as part of the 'Librarian' storyline alongside Leva Bates, with whom he was paired for his first year in the promotion, before entering a feud with fellow winless wrestler Brandon Cutler that was eventually won by his opposite number.
Later, Avalon formed The Wingmen with JD Drake, Ryan Nemeth, and Cezar Bononi. The heel group competes primarily on Dark and Dark: Elevation in between sporadic Dynamite appearances, which have been few and far between.
