AEW Star Misses Show Due To Concussion Issues

This AEW favourite was due to compete for Warrior Wrestling last night.

Brian Pillman Jr. was pulled from his Warrior Wrestling match against Silas Young last night due to a reported concussion issue.

Warrior Wrestling issued a statement earlier in the day to state how the Varsity Blond is "not medically cleared to compete" against Young, with Davey Bang stepping up to replace Pillman. Since then, Wrestling Inc has added how BPJ's absence is due to a concussion he suffered on this past Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.

That Dynamite bout saw Pillman and Griff Garrison easily defeated by the Kings of the Black Throne tandem of Malakai Black and Brody King. As for how serious these concussion issues are or how long they'll keep Pillman out of action, that remains to be seen.

Despite Pillman's absence - the second-generation star a long-standing staple of the promotion - Warrior Wrestling looks to have put on a banger of a show last night, with the main event seeing Warrior Wrestling Champion Will Ospreay successfully defend the gold against AEW's Brian Cage in a contest that's receiving universal praise online.

Of course, speculation has been rampant recently about Cage's future in AEW, with the Machine having been kept off AEW programming since a Philadelphia Street Fight against Ricky Starks back in October.
