AEW Star Says There's "Zero Chance" He'll Return To The Ring

Barring a medical miracle, there's just no way this ex-wrestler is taking bumps in AEW rings.

AEW's Sonjay Dutt says there's "zero chance" of him working matches or even taking a few bumps here or there inside the ring any time soon.

Dutt hasn't wrestled at all since losing to current ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham on an independent show in late-December 2017. Now, during an interview with the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Sonjay has revealed that he won't even consider working unless he is "100%" or "fixed physically".

For now, he's happy working as a manager alongside Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh.

Dutt also revealed during the same chat that "it's very hard to kind of define [his] day" backstage at AEW tapings - the former TNA man, who also worked as a producer in WWE between 2019-2021, wears many hats behind the curtain, and he's relishing the responsibilities handed to him by Tony Khan.

Anyone hoping to see Sonjay maybe wrestle some tag matches alongside Lethal/Singh or re-launch his own singles career should temper their expectations though. Numerous serious injuries robbed him of his active wrestling career around five years ago, and he point blank refuses to put himself at risk.
