AEW Teases Major Heel Turn On Rampage?

Was this angle the start of someone's road towards a full-blown AEW heel turn?

Eddie Kingston didn't turn full-blown heel on the latest episode of AEW Rampage, but he came rather close.

The beloved rebel nailed regular pal Ortiz in the stomach with a steel chair during their tense face-to-face in-ring promo segment, then blasted him with another shot across the back. After that, Kingston strolled out as the commentators wondered if House Of Black had successfully managed to drive a wedge between good friends.

Ortiz' promo wasn't speech of the year, or anything, but it did get the job done - he questioned Eddie's recent behaviour, and chewed him out for acting in a way that'd make his parents ashamed. That was too much for Kingston. He'd heard enough, and he went to town on Ortiz with the chair.

On Twitter, some AEW fans wondered whether or not this would be smoothed over on upcoming episodes. Or, maybe it's part of something bigger for Eddie. He's been babyface for years now, so a heel run could be in the pipeline.

It's unclear if that'd work though. Fans in attendance for Rampage did cheer his chair shots, after all, so perhaps a heel Kingston wouldn't click.
