AEW World Title Match Set For 2 December Dynamite

AEW sets the date for Moxley vs. Omega II.

AEW has announced that Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega's World Championship match will go down on the 2 December episode of Dynamite.

Rather than waiting for pay-per-view, the promotion is putting out a main event calibre bout on TNT. AEW is yet to have their biggest belt change hands on television, so if the expect Omega title victory happens here, it'll be a company first.

The two wrestlers addressed each other in separate backstage promos on last night's Dynamite. Mox's segment was plagued with audio issues, though he said that if anyone can beat Kenny Omega twice, it's him. Kenny, meanwhile, framed the match around their previous bout, saying it was time to see if Mox can beat him in a real match with real rules.

Moxley and Omega last wrestled at Full Gear 2019, closing the show in an unsanctioned Lights Out match. Such bouts don't count towards win/loss records in AEW, so, as 'The Cleaner' pointed out on Dynamite, this will technically be their first documented clash.

Kenny won this opportunity by defeating Hangman Page to take the World Title Eliminator tournament at Full Gear 2020, where Moxley defended against Eddie Kingston.
