AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door Documentary Announced

New documentary will peak behind the Forbidden Door.

For fans looking to take a look behind the, err, curtain of last month's AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has today announced that a documentary spotlighting the event will be released soon.

While no set release/premiere date has been given for this documentary as of yet, NJPW confirmed that a special titled simply The Forbidden Door will be coming to the New Japan World streaming service at some point in the near future.

In a brief teaser trailer for The Forbidden Door, it's detailed how Hiroshi Tanahashi, Chris Jericho, Sting, William Regal, Shingo Takagi and Tony Schiavone will be amongst those contributing to the documentary. Additionally, this teaser also shows footage of Jay White, Zack Sabre Jr., Katsuyori Shibata, Will Ospreay, and of course Kazuchika Okada - with the Rainmaker also speaking a few words towards the end of thie clip.

Emanating from Chicago's United Center, AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door took place on 26 June.

Consisting of nine matches (with a further four contests on the pre-show Buy In), Forbidden Door was headlined by Jay White retaining the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Kazuchika Okada, 'Hangman' Adam Page and Cole, and the show-closing bout which saw Jon Moxley defeat Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the interim AEW World Title.
