AEW's Fight For The Fallen Stage Was Based On South Park

Tony Khan indulged in a childhood dream.

Comedy Central/AEW

Those who grew up watching Comedy Central might have been wondering exactly why the staging of this Saturday's Fight for the Fallen looked oddly familiar.

That's because it was. As confirmed by Tony Khan after AEW's third show proper, the configuration at Jacksonville's Daily Place was designed to resemble one which appeared in South Park during the show's 13th season.

In the episode 'W.T.F.', Stan and his pals put on their very own version of SmackDown, satirising WWE and the conventions of wrestling (Presumably, that was not the plan with Fight for the Fallen).

Khan posted a comparison image on Twitter after the show, confirming the unusual connection:

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
