AEW's First Ever TBS Champion Is...

Who took the TBS Title when Jade Cargill and Ruby Soho went to war on Dynamite?

Jade Cargill was crowned AEW's first ever TBS Champion on last night's episode of Dynamite (the show's TBS debut, incidentally), defeating Ruby Soho in the tournament finals.

The match saw early interference from newcomer Mercedes Martinez, who once again teased an alliance with Jade and manager 'Smart' Mark Sterling by getting in Soho's face, though she was quickly neutralised by the onrushing Thunder Rosa. Later, Sterling causing a ruckus on the apron and getting ejected from ringside preceded a closing stretch that ended up Cargill hitting an avalanche version of her Jaded finisher for the win.

A true homegrown AEW talent, Cargill worked her first match for the promotion last March. Last night was the 23rd televised encounter of her career - and perhaps the most competitive, as the bulk of her wins have come via squash.

Bolstered by a first-round bye, Cargill defeated Red Velvet and Thunder Rosa to reach the tournament final. Soho, meanwhile, beat Penelope Ford, Kris Statlander, and Nyla Rose to earn her spot.

Soho was attacked backstage by Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter later on, though she was saved by Riho, who challenges for Baker's AEW Women's World Title at Battle of the Belts this Saturday.
