The Butcher and the Blade have been causing quite a bit of trouble on AEW Dynamite of late, and now it seems their reign of serrated terror has extended to lead commentator Jim Ross' home - quite literally - as the veteran play-by-play man was today involved in a gruesome but thankfully innocuous kitchen accident.

Oklahoma's premier BBQ sauce salesman posted a hideously gory picture to Twitter earlier today, showing the aftermath of a Christmas present gone awry. According to Ross, his daughter Amanda gifted her father with two high-fidelity Japanese kitchen knives, which he subsequently impaled under his fingernail whilst clumsily attempting to open them.

Reacting to his impromptu avulsion, JR then impaled his stomach. Despite accidentally attempting ritual seppuku, the voice of the Attitude era thankfully confirmed that "all's well nonetheless".

Ross joked about his blessure in subsequent Tweets, saying he might require a nurse, before - irrelevantly - retweeting a raunchy snap of Nyla Rose.

The 67-year-old is no stranger to the odd accident. In November last year, he bashed his face up quite nastily when he tripped up on a sidewalk. He wasn't shy about sharing a graphic image of the accident on that occasion either.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
