An undisclosed injury has forced AEW's Joey Janela to pull out of matches he had scheduled for Game Changer Wrestling shows on 6 and 19 June.

Janela revealed as much in a video uploaded to his Twitter page over the weekend, stating that while he doesn't know the severity of his injury yet, he isn't currently cleared to compete. The Bad Boy noted that he'll still be able to do commentary for GCW this weekend, and is "85% sure" he'll be cleared to compete in time for GCW's 10 July event.

Later, Janela appeared to indicate that the injury may have occurred while wrestling Hangman Page on last week's AEW Dynamite:-

Page ended up defeating Janela in around 10 minutes on the pre-Double Or Nothing show. Joey's next AEW appearance had not been announced at the time of writing.

A recent episode of Dark: Elevation saw Janela effectively walk out on tag partner Sonny Kiss, leaving him to be beaten down by Team Taz, with Joey departing via the heel entrance tunnel. Perhaps their foreshadowed tag team split will come to fruition once Janela is healed up and ready to go again.
