AJ Styles may have been injured at WWE Royal Rumble 2020.

PWInsider have reported that 'The Phenomenal One' was hurt while competing in the titular bout, with the former WWE Champion taking a particularly nasty-looking Spear from the returning Edge. This went down seconds before AJ was thrown out of the match, and he stood up holding his arm after the impact, with a referee jumping onto the apron to assess and communicate the damage.

Here's the spot in question:-

... yeah, that doesn't look like a fun one to take.

PWInsider also note that Styles had his arm bandaged up and was holding ice on it backstage, and has now been scheduled for tests to determine the severity of the injury and how long he'll need to take away from the squared circle.

A disappointing end to AJ's night, then. He entered the Rumble at number 18 and lasted a shade under eight minutes before the injury and his elimination, but wasn't able to throw anyone over the top rope.

Here's hoping that 'The Phenomenal One' isn't too badly hurt. He's permanently one of the most over guys on the roster, even when he isn't in the main event scene, and Raw will miss him.
