The Fiend's return to in-ring action in WWE ended in defeat, as Alexa Bliss cost Bray Wyatt his match against Randy Orton on WrestleMania 37's second night.

This bizarre turn of events came at the end of a match that opened in a similarly bizarre fashion. Bliss hit the stadium after Orton's initial entrance, turning the handle on a huge jack-in-the-box that had seemingly teleported to ringside following Randy's walk-down. Out from the "box-like structure" (thanks, Michael Cole) popped Wyatt, who largely controlled Orton from that moment on, falling only to a couple of comebacks.

The Fiend had Orton primed and ready for Sister Abigail when fire shot out of the ring posts. Sitting atop the box, Bliss had changed into black attire and goo started dripping from her face, prompting Wyatt to let go of Orton. This allowed Randy to hit an RKO on the distracted Fiend for the win at around six minutes.

Bliss and Wyatt stared each other down after the bell, before vanishing when the lights went out.

This was The Fiend's first match since December 2020, when he lost his Firefly Inferno match with Orton after being set ablaze at TLC 2020.
