As you could probably tell, John Cena wasn't featured at any of the aforementioned events due to injury. Although he won't be present at Survivor Series on Sunday, it will be because he's currently on hiatus from the company. However, there was only one instance in December 2011 where Cena was purposely left off the TLC pay-per-view. Although he was healthy and active, WWE simply didn't have any plans for him to appear at the event despite being embroiled in a program with the returning masked Kane. And wouldn't you know it, the show went off without a hitch. Daniel Bryan cashed in Money in the Bank to become World Heavyweight champion, CM Punk successfully defended his WWE Championship in an awesome TLC match, and Zack Ryder finally captured the United States title. TLC 2011 was proof that a pay-per-view can be great and not have Cena on the card even if he's available. Keep that in mind for the future, Vince.
