Andrade BLASTS WWE For Constantly Pushing Wrestlers Who "Don't Have It" (WWE News)
AEW star Andrade takes aim at WWE for constantly pushing certain wrestlers.
Andrade El Idolo has taken aim at WWE for failing to push him when he was under contract whilst simultaneously forcing certain wrestlers down everyone's throats. The AEW star appeared on Latin Lover's podcast, and Fightful was on hand to translate the interview for fans.
It's a very interesting transcript.
Amongst other things, Andrade said that WWE bosses had wanted him to work for AAA during his time in the promotion, but he wasn't keen. The former NXT Champion told management that he'd already worked hard to become a star in Mexico, so he wanted to succeed on WWE's main programming instead of taking a backwards step.
Then, he blasted the organisation for failing to utilise Santos Escobar, Berto and Angel as Los Garza and himself when he was with the company. Perhaps the most interesting tidbit came when Andrade focused on the heavy Samoan influence within WWE.
This is what he had to say on that subject: "Then you see wrestlers...maybe it’s going to sound bad, but there are some jokes about the Samoans. Not everyone. Roman Reigns succeeded, he did well, but there are several that don’t got it and they are constantly pushed. I’m there like they’ve been doing it for 20 years and they still don’t have it, and we never had those opportunities".
Surely, those comments will ruffle some feathers with his old employer. Andrade won an 11-man Casino Gauntlet Match at All In over the weekend to snag a future AEW World Title opportunity.
