Another AEW Wrestler Just Got Their Name Changed

Following in Anna Jay A.S.'s footsteps with an AEW name change is...

Jericho Appreciation Society
AEW

Tay Conti will now go by Tay Melo in All Elite Wrestling.

This was revealed during last night's special Quake by the Lake episode of Dynamite. Excalibur's customary late-show match announcements brought news that Tay and Sammy Guevara will defend their AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships against Dante Martin and Skye Blue on this week's Rampage, with the Brazilian introduced as "Melo", not "Conti", following her wedding to Guevara last week.

The Jericho Appreciation Society member was born Taynara Melo de Carvalho and married Jorge Conti in 2017, though the couple had divorced by 2021. Now, following her and Guevara's nuptials, she is officially changing her ring name.

Melo's TayJay tag team partner, Anna Jay, recently had her ring name changed to Anna Jay A.S. in AEW. Both have joined the Jericho Appreciation Society in recent months, with Jay A.S. the heel stable's most recent member.

Tay has been with AEW steadily since showing up as a participant in its Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament in August 2020. This came following her WWE release that April, though Melo had tried to engineer an exit from the market leaders prior to this. WWE turned this down through fear of her going to AEW, per the Brazilian.
