WWE could be on the verge of loading its SummerSlam 2021 card up with another big-time bout, with a dream match between Seth Rollins and Edge reportedly in the works.

WrestleVotes tweeted last night that as well as the rumoured John Cena vs. Roman Reigns bout, WWE's "idea as of now is for a Seth Rollins vs. Edge first time ever match."

As if that wasn't enough, the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast's Andrew Zarian has also teased another, undisclosed "big match," presumably of similar calibre.

Edge has been absent from WWE television since failing to capture the Universal Championship in a Triple Threat with Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 37. The veteran is currently being advertised for the 16 July episode of SmackDown in Houston, Texas, which will be WWE's first fully-attended show since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the company into empty and sparsely-populated arenas last March.

Rollins, meanwhile, is currently feuding with Cesaro on SmackDown, having felled his rival at Hell In A Cell 2021 this past Sunday.

All signs currently point towards a stacked SummerSlam card on 21 August, with the event close to selling out.
