New Day fans can breathe something of a sigh of relief, as two-thirds of the decorated group apparently will be competing at WrestleMania 38 this weekend.

The trio were originally slated to reunite and wrestle together at Mania for the first time in six years, but those plans were scuttled when Big E sustained a broken neck a few weeks ago when a belly-to-belly overhead suplex from Ridge Holland went awry.

Fightful Select reports that the original plans for the six-man tag featuring Sheamus, Holland and Butch (formerly Pete Dunne) were scrapped, but as of Friday, a tag match pitting Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods against Sheamus & Butch was still planned. However, the site noted that those plans could change, with Holland possibly being subbed in, or the match being nixed altogether.

After everything this mini-feud has been through, with E suffering a debilitating injury just as Woods was returning to action, and Dunne undergoing a mind-bogglingly stupid repackaging, scratching this match off the Mania card entirely would be the icing on a really crappy cake.

Eleven matches have been confirmed publicly for the two-night spectacle that is WM 38, though a few more could easily be added, including this planned contest. It would feel really strange to have Mania without New Day or Sheamus, but still include Logan Paul and Johnny Knoxville, but that's where we are.
