Another Top WWE Star Dealing With An Injury
This former World Champion worked the Royal Rumble with a fractured foot.
With CM Punk last night revealing on WWE Raw that he suffered a triceps injury at the Royal Rumble over the weekend, plus current World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins dealing with a torn MCL and a partially torn meniscus, there now comes word that Kevin Owens also has his own injury issues right now.
Per Dave Meltzer over at the Wrestling Observer, Owens worked the Royal Rumble with a fractured foot.
Of course, KO faced Logan Paul at last weekend's Premium Live Event, with the Canadian losing via DQ in his quest to dethrone Paul as the United States Champion; Owens caught red-handed after using brass knuckles against his opponent.
As for the foot injury, the one-time WWE Universal Champion fractured his foot on the 5 January episode of SmackDown in a match against Santos Escobar. The Royal Rumble was Owens' first match since that Escobar bout, and he gutted through to put on an entertaining outing against Paul.
There's no word on the severity of this injury or if Kevin Owens will miss any significant TV time, although the finish to Owens' Rumble match clearly suggests that there's more to come in the Owens vs. Paul rivalry at some point down the line.
