Apollo Crews went all in on a WWE heel turn during Friday's episode of SmackDown.

Apollo Crews has officially turned full-blown heel.

The previously-bland babyface attacked Big E following a roll-up loss to Shinsuke Nakamura on Friday's episode of SmackDown; Crews had also attacked Shin after the match, which prompted E to get up off his ringside couch and demand that Apollo stop.

He did, but not for long. When the Intercontinental Champion tended to a downed Nakamura, Crews ambushed him from behind with some steel steps. Later, E was shown leaving on a stretcher and being rushed into an ambulance.

That probably rules out a quick fire IC Title rematch between the pair at Sunday's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, which is a good thing. WWE don't need to rush into any more losses for the newly-turned Crews. Having him job to E again wouldn't really give him any momentum post-turn.

That turn had been simmering for a while now. Previously, Apollo was shown conversing with Roman Reigns backstage, but it seemed like WWE had forgotten all about that. Apparently not, because Crews showed some of the same callous goodness that Roman has become known for.

Hopefully, this is the big break his WWE career needed.
