Is Brock Lesnar about to swerve fans on retirement again?! WWE sources have their say.
Brock Lesnar officially announced his retirement from pro wrestling and "everything" during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show this week. 'The Beast' was speaking after putting Oba Femi over inside Hell In A Cell to close out the first night of WWE's bumper SummerSlam PLE in Minneapolis on Saturday.
On McAfee's show, Lesnar publicly thanked everyone for their backing over the years, but said he'd now retired. Or...has he? WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select spoke with WWE sources about the situation, and they say that some backstage "still believe he’ll be involved with WrestleMania 43 in some capacity".
If he decides against actively wrestling a match on the show, then those same sources reckon there's a solid chance that Brock will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame over in Saudi Arabia.
This wasn't included in the WrestleVotes/Fightful write-up, but that'd come with a hefty payday. Being inducted into the HOF alone probably wouldn't pay as much as an actual match across the April 2027 weekender, but this is Brock Lesnar we're talking about - he surely wouldn't be flying all the way to Saudi for nothing.
Rather definitely, a source told the website that they "can’t envision Lesnar walking away before one final payday in Saudi Arabia". It'd be a fairly simple way for Brock to make bank one last time before finally calling it quits. However, it obviously remains to be seen whether he'll sign up for anything inside the ring or not.
