If you weren't paying close attention to Twitter the past couple days, you might have missed a couple wrestlers doing business for themselves.

On Wednesday, Jade Cargill tweeted for someone to step up and accept her open challenge for the TBS Championship. This prompted Athena, who wrestled as Ember Moon in WWE, to respond, "Hmmmm." It went on from there, with Jade telling her to say how she really feels, which led to Athena shooting back:

The two continued sniping at each other into Friday, exchanging insults, barbs, GIFs and emojis as they continued to circle around Athena getting a shot at Jade's TBS title, which she won in January and successfully defended at AEW Revolution last weekend. If you've followed the banter, it's been a pretty fun back-and-forth.

Athena signed with WWE in 2015, bouncing between NXT and the main roster as Ember Moon. She won the NXT Women's Championship and NXT Women's Tag Team Championship (with Shotzi Blackheart) during her time with the company. She was among the multitude released in November 2021.

Since her release, Athena has wrestled Thunder Rosa to a 30-minute draw at Warrior Wrestling 19 for the Warrior Wrestling Women's Championship. It remains to be seen if this Twitter banter leads somewhere or if it just remains two wrestlers duking it out via their keyboards.
