WWE taped it last week, but this Austin Theory match didn't make the airwaves.

A match between Austin Theory and Apollo Crews originally taped for last week's episode of WWE Main Event didn't end up making the show.

For unknown reasons, WWE pulled Theory vs. Crews, which was recorded during the company's Raw/Main Event tapings in Columbus, Ohio on 28 February, meaning that only a single match aired on the 3 March episode of Main Event. Veer Mahaan defeated local enhancement talent Storm Grayson there, extending his C-show winning streak to 11 matches.

Theory beat Crews in the unaired match. There is currently no word on why, exactly, it wasn't shown on Main Event, though Fightful Select have noted that it was produced by Petey Williams.

The current WrestleMania 38 card has Theory pegged to wrestle Pat McAfee on the annual mega-show's second night (Sunday 3 April). This is expected to mutate into something involving Vince McMahon, however, as recent reporting points towards the 76-year-old WWE Chairman and CEO working some kind of physical role at the big event, potentially as part of a match.

Austin wrestled Finn Balor on last night's episode of Raw, losing via disqualification when Damian Priest attacked Balor.
