Fightful Select has come through with a backstage update on the contract status of current Impact Wrestling Champions Deonna Purrazzo and Eric Young, one of whom is technically still a free agent.

Young has signed an exclusive two-year deal with the promotion after making a surprise return in the main event of July's Slammiversary 2020 pay-per-view. Impact is said to be his sole focus at the moment, as he embarks on a big second run with a company he spent 12 years with from 2004 to 2016.

Eric defeated Eddie Edwards to become a two-time Impact World Champion on last night's television show.

Elsewhere, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo still hasn't signed a contract with the promotion - and hasn't been offered a deal since taking the title from Jordynne Grace at Slammiversary. She remains a true freelancer, having recently defended the strap against Grace in a 30-minute Iron Woman rematch.

Both Young and Purrazzo left WWE as part of the company's mass cuts in April, with Purrazzo showing up in Impact several weeks before the former Sanity leader. Her current level of performances will likely make her one of wrestling most sought-after talents before long.
