Backstage Notes On Last-Minute Changes To This Week's WWE Raw

Carmella, Seth Rollins, and more were impacted by WWE's last-minute Raw changes.

In a shocking turn of events, it appears this week's episode of WWE Raw was the subject of at least one last-minute change, with other alterations made to the originally planned lineup as well.

Fightful Select notes that Carmella was originally set to face Bianca Belair on the show. This would have gone down early in the night but was flipped to Belair vs. Queen Zelina, 'Mella's tag team partner, who was defeated in just under four minutes. Instead of facing Bianca, Carmella wound up in a trios match pitting her, Tamina, and Nikki A.S.H. against Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and Dana Brooke.

No reason has been given for the switch-up. Per Fightful, the change happened that the notice was short enough for it to not appear internally just before Raw hit the airwaves.

Prior to Raw, Carmella hadn't wrestled since 3 January. The former SmackDown Women's Champion recently confirmed that she tested positive for COVID-19 sometime this month.

Elsewhere, WWE also canned plans to have Seth Rollins sit in the commentary booth at some stage in the show - and a Rumble By The Numbers segment initially set for Raw ended up going out on social media instead.
