Backstage Reaction To Cesaro Leaving WWE Revealed

How have Cesaro's former WWE rostermates reacted to the Swiss Superman leaving the company?

Cesaro's departure from WWE has been met with "disappointment and dismay" from people in the company, reports Fightful Select.

The 41-year-old was popular amongst his peers and considered amongst the most well-liked people in the company. WWE wanted to keep him around, too, offering Cesaro a contract extension, though he ended up rejecting their offer and leaving at the end of his previous deal, which had previously been extended by a week.

Fightful not that Cesaro had told other WWE roster members that his contract was up in February as far back as October, confessing that he wasn't sure whether or not he'd re-sign. People inside the promotion praised Cesaro for his professionalism in how he handled his last match (an 11 February SmackDown loss to Happy Corbin), as well as his split from the company.

The former United States Champion had been with WWE since 2011, but now becomes a free agent. That he left as a result of his contract expiring rather than being cut in the middle of his agreed term means he isn't bound to a non-compete clause.

Theoretically, Cesaro could pop up in another wrestling company immediately.
