The life of a professional wrestling fan in 2016 is one teeming with cynicism, but even the staunchest critic of World Wrestling Entertainment should have reasons to be optimistic ahead of Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

To call the card 'strong' would be a huge understatement, with two WrestleMania-caliber main events in the shape of Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins and John Cena vs. AJ Styles as well as a Money in the Bank ladder match that is as stacked as that match has ever been.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that many are expecting it to be one of the most newsworthy shows of the year. WWE has been hyping it up as the biggest Money in the Bank of all time, and looking at the card it is difficult to disagree.

Can we expect Finn Balor to be a part of it? Most likely not. His arrival on the main roster is said to be imminent, but it could very well be held off until the WWE Draft in July. Randy Orton, Neville and Bray Wyatt are also set to return to TV at any moment, so it would be no surprise to see any of those return this weekend.

Let the guesses on who Bray Wyatt will interrupt as they climb the ladder to claim the briefcase begin. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn coming together to fight a common enemy in the Wyatt Family anyone?

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
