Backstage Update On AEW Locker Room Morale After Full Gear 2021
How is the mood backstage in AEW after another well-received pay-per-view?
All Elite Wrestling's locker room morale is reportedly high at the moment, with the company's effort to create new stars seemingly the reason.
Mat Men's Andrew Zarian reported the following on Sunday (14 November):-
Spoke to someone within AEW last night regarding the PPV. "Morale is very high with the locker room. The investment AEW has made in its future stars is paying dividends"
This comes off the back of 13 November's Full Gear 2021 pay-per-view, which was broadly well-received by fans and critics, and closed with the grand coronation of Hangman Page as AEW World Champion after a chase storyline spanning over two years in length.
Page, 30, defeated Kenny Omega in the show's main event. He is the most notable and popular of the younger wrestlers AEW has attempted to create stars of, though the likes of Sammy Guevara, MJF, Darby Allin, Jungle Boy, and Britt Baker were all on the PPV card as well.
Hangman was involved in the first AEW World Title match back at All Out 2019, where he was defeated by Chris Jericho. His ascent is the product of a meticulously-plotted character arc that has made him one of the most naturally over people in a company boasting the likes of Omega, CM Punk, and Bryan Danielson.
