Backstage Update On AEW's Plans For Jon Moxley Vs. Kenny Omega

When will we see the former All Out opponents collide?

This weekend brought devastating news for AEW fans: the much-hyped Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley match set for All Out is off.

Moxley had been forced to pull out due to a staph infection. Though he worked through the affliction in an NEW match with Pentagon Jr. last week, he wasn't going to make it to Chicago, and AEW promptly replaced him with PAC - who'll be making his debut for the promotion.

While disappointing, the silver lining is that Moxley's pull-out means AEW still have the first-time-ever clash in the chamber for a future event and per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the company plan on re-booking it soon after the former Dean Ambrose is cleared to compete.

AEW's TNT premiere (2 October) was teased. This could work, though perhaps not in the bout's original form, as Omega is set to team with The Young Bucks against Chris Jericho and two mystery partners on that show. It isn't difficult to imagine Moxley dropping into one of those slots.

As far as PAC goes, the WOR episode also brought talk that AEW may have planned an All Out run-in from him prior to the replacement. Either way, it's good to finally see him on board.
