Backstage Update On Braun Strowman's WWE Return

Latest on Braun Strowman following his WWE return on last night's Raw.

WWE may have opted to use Raw for Braun Strowman's comeback, but 'The Monster Among Men' will make his home on another brand.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that Strowman will be a babyface on the SmackDown roster now that he is back in WWE. This should start on this week's show, as Raw saw Strowman promise to show up on Friday night, having destroyed multiple wrestlers earlier in the night.

Braun came back to WWE through Raw's opening match, which pitted Alpha Academy, Los Lotharios, The New Day, and The Street Profits against each other to determine the Raw/SmackDown Tag Team Championships' number one contenders. The bout went to a no-contest following Strowman's destructive interruption.

Prior to last night, Strowman had been away from WWE since June 2021, when he was released as one of the promotion's many pandemic-era "budget cuts." He continued wrestling on the sport's smaller stages, using his real name, Adam Scherr, in such groups as Control Your Narrative, but only worked a total of 8 post-WWE bouts.

WWE is yet to announce Braun's first match back in the company. Perhaps SmackDown will provide answers.
