Backstage Update On Brian Cage's AEW Status

What's going on with Brian Cage, who hasn't wrestled on AEW TV since October?

He might not be on company television at the moment, but Brian Cage is still All Elite.

Fightful Select published a report on the 37-year-old's status on Sunday, stating that 'The Machine' was backstage at last week's episode of Dynamite in Duluth, Georgia despite not being used on the broadcast.

Cage's last televised AEW match came on the 8 October episode of Rampage, where he failed to recapture the FTW Title from former stablemate Ricky Starks in a Philadelphia Street Fight. Brian had been feuding with Starks and the rest of Team Taz since the 14 July Dynamite, on which Ricky took the FTW Title from him after a full-on double-cross, with Hook and Powerhouse Hobbs interfering for the finish.

Despite not being featured on AEW television, Cage wrestled four matches on the Jericho Cruise in late October - and the company considers these as canon. He went 3-1 on the boat with the only loss being a tag bout that saw him paired with Christopher Daniels to face Angelico and Isiah Kassidy.

Cage has been with AEW since January 2020, when he signed for the company while injured.
