Backstage Update On Candice LeRae's WWE Future

The latest on Candice LeRae's WWE contract status.

Candice LeRae's WWE future has been the subject of much speculation lately, thanks, in part, to uncertainty surrounding her husband Johnny Gargano.

Gargano is currently bound to a contract expiring tomorrow, 10 December. This week's episode of NXT saw the long-serving developmental wrestling saying that he didn't know what his immediate future holds, with relative newcomer Grayson Waller beating him down afterwards. Then, after NXT had gone off the air, Gargano joined Kyle O'Reilly (whose own contract expires this month too) in what looked very much like a "farewell" to the live crowd.

Regarding LeRae, Fightful Select have reaffirmed that she is bound to a deal expiring in spring 2022. The outlet originally reported this back in September, noting that Candice's contract doesn't align with Johnny's.

Whether or not WWE will add time onto LeRae's deal due to her pregnancy remains to be seen, however. Fightful have been told that as of yet, this subject hasn't even been brought up as of yet.

There hasn't been much talk of LeRae entering contract negotiations either, though this isn't necessarily surprising, as WWE tends to leave such things until closer to expiration.

LeRae and Gargano are expecting their first child together in February 2022.
