What next for MVP after his Royal Rumble returning?

Edge may have starred in the night's most attention-grabbing return, but MVP slid back into the WWE Universe for the first time in over nine years at Royal Rumble 2020, entering the titular bout at number 12.

He didn't last 30 seconds with Brock Lesnar, who made quick work for the former United States Champion, but it was a cool little moment from one of the few returns WWE hadn't already pulled off over the past few years - and the appearance may not have been a one-off.

Per Dave Meltzer on today's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, MVP is with the company for at least a couple more shows. He won't be around long-term, but he does have more WWE dates on his calendar, meaning further appearances are guaranteed.

MVP held both the United States and Tag Team Championships (with Matt Hardy) during his original WWE run, which went from 2005 to 2010. Recent years have seen him competing primarily on the independent circuit, though he appeared for both Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor in 2019, as well as winning a silver medal at the World Master Jiu-Jitsu Championships in October.
