Backstage Update On MVP's WWE Future After Raw

What next for the former United States Champion?

Former WWE United States Champion MVP was back on Raw last night, despite previously commenting that he was done with the promotion on Instagram.

He hosted a fresh episode of his old talk show, the VIP Lounge, with Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre as his guest. Playing a heel role, MVP used the segment to try and convince McIntyre that he needed him in his corner when he faced Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36, or he'd be toast. Drew understandably took exception to this, Claymore-ing MVP across his own set to close.

While MVP's in-ring career is almost certainly done, it looks like he'll now transition into some kind of backstage role with WWE.

This is according to a new report from PWInsider, who claim that talks have been ongoing between WWE and MVP over a potential producer's role, with the negotiations continuing backstage during last night's show. If it works out, MVP could slot right into WWE's behind-the-scenes team.

MVP mounted a big return in last month's Royal Rumble but lasted only a matter of seconds against Lesnar. He followed-up with a singles match against Rey Mysterio on Raw, after which he claimed he was done.
