Backstage Update On Thunder Rosa's IMPACT Slammiversary Appearance
New details emerge on the former NWA World Women's Champion's shock Slammiversary appearance.
Having made her surprise IMPACT debut at last night's Slammiversary PPV, there's now an update on how Thunder Rosa's IMPACT arrival came about.
As per Fightful Select, the deal to bring the former NWA World Women's Champion in was put together a month prior to Slammiversary. This report also adds how this will not be the last time that IMPACT and the NWA work together.
After weeks of teasing a mystery opponent for Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo at Slammiversary, it was Thunder Rosa who shockingly turned up to challenge the Virtuosa. The pair put on a fantastic back-and-forth match, with Purrazzo eventually hitting the Queen's Gambit for the win.
Of course, Deonna's post-match celebrations were quickly cut short by the returning Mickie James - as an offer was made for Purrazzo to compete at the NWA's upcoming Empowerrr show.
Where it pertains to Thunder Rosa, she's expected to continue working for both the NWA and AEW until the end of the year. The hugely talented grappler is contracted with Billy Corgan's National Wrestling Alliance for the rest of 2021, although the NWA and AEW are known to have a good working relationship - much like AEW and IMPACT, and now seemingly the NWA and IMPACT.
